Week 3: The Bar Build - Granite
So the final piece of the puzzle for the bar is the bar top which is going ot be granite. The granite came from Colonial Granite in King Of Prussia. They had the best price, but you get what you pay for. The material was great, but the customer service was absolutely horrid. By far the worst company I had to deal with during this entire project. More on that later.
So Monday roles around and the team to install the granite shows up. They have 5 guys and three slabs of granite that weigh over a thousand pounds between them. Wow! But its nothing they can't handle and they knocked it out in a little over 5 hours.
It takes all 5 guys to lift the piece of granite and move it into place. And even with the 5 of them it was grunt work getting it set in place! |
This is where the appliance cabinet will go that will store the alcohol and glasses. You can see the drain line from the ice chest running across the opening. |
That little section waiting for granite is where the hot dog cart will go. |
We are on the last piece of granite. Once that little guy is in place we are DONE! |
And there it is! DONE! Just needs a hot dog cart on it. |
Time to clean everything up and put everything away. Then all that is left is to party! |
An adjustable faucet on a very over sized outdoor sink. I needed something big to clean the bar stuff and hot dog cart. Oh, and there is hot water in the bar!! I had the Al The Plumber install an AquaKing tank-less water heater under the bar. It works GREAT! Just not sure if it should be enclosed like it is. I called the company and they said it was fine. We will see as the season progresses. The company has been great to work with and so far the water heater is great. The plumber said most of these portable tank-less water heaters are a waste and restrict water flow too much for them to be worth it. But he liked this one and was surprised how good the water pressure was. |
And the bar is setup and the bar is clean. Oh, and the hot dog cart finally found its home! |
It's exciting to see it documented like this.....but I still think Zoey & the chicken sandwich need a mention;)
