Day 85: Decking - Day 5 - Fire Pit Walls, Screening & Steps, oh my!

 

It's Monday morning and the roar of the bulldozer is going. Today they are going to work on finishing up the fire pit area and cut out some more area to lay screening. They will also lay a few steps going down into the walk-out basement. You can really see how the pavers will be laid out now that the walls are dug and the screening is down.

 

 

You can see Jose and Brad above finalizing the height of the fire pit wall.

You can see the guys stomping the screening down where the steps will go to the walk out basement. You have Diego and Mike on the left by the steps. Mo is in the middle and Oscar the future Math teacher is off to the right. These guys are workers and couldn't be nicer.

And there are the pavers.....ahhhhhh, the final step...

Also on the agenda today is placing and compacting more screening.

The guys are gone and they are getting everything level. You can see in the picture above how the patio will be laid out.

The wall going around the fire pit is just about done. Just need some lights and caps!

We have steps!! Nice to be able to walk into my basement without climbing over mounds of dirt!

Well, the hardscaping project is about a twenty five percent done at this point and it is looking great!
