Day 38: Work Starts Again....kinda - Boulders
The guys from Pebble Pools are back, on a Saturday no less. Bravo to Pebble for trying to rectify a touchy situation. UPDATE: I think they came out on Saturday just to appease me since they dropped the ball a couple of weeks ago. There is an update in the next post on how the communication is still not fixed.
Tommy, Mark and Steve have a few VERY large boulders to place on and around the grotto today. I had no idea it would take them as long as it did to place just the 4 boulders they placed. They dry set all of them to make sure they fit and then set them into place.
They will be back to set the rest of the boulders, but here is the progress so far.
| Looks can be deceiving, those are some big rocks! |
| You can kind of see the size of these things next to Tommy as he walks past them. |
| This boulder alone is almost 4 feet across and weighs just about a half of ton. |
| Over 2 feet deep |
| And 2 feet tall |
| And as I said has to weigh about a half of ton! |
| Beautiful view of the power plan stacks in the background. |
| Steve is like an artist when he is playing in concrete |
| After they set the boulder they are working on now, Tommy is not happy with the way it looks. They ended up moving it over to the other side of the first boulder. |
| You can see the boulder which started off on the left of the original boulder is now to the right. It looks much better. These guys have a great eye.....well apparently they have a good eye for everything but a camera. Tommy looks like he got caught with his hands in the cookie jar! |
| You can see the HUGE boulder to the right sticking out. There will be NO diving off of it......seriously.... |
